STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education completed a secondary school education/diploma degree in the related field.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.

WFP’s greatest strength is its 14,000 dedicated people working tirelessly around the world to reduce hunger, often under difficult conditions where security threats and risks to personal safety are considerable. The global context in which WFP operates is rapidly changing which means the need for effective people management is becoming more important than ever before. In this context, WFP launched its People Strategy in November 2014. It articulates key strategic focus to build an engaged workforce, with the right skills, in the right roles enabling WFP to continue fulfilling its humanitarian response role while simultaneously building its capabilities to address the long-term goals of Zero Hunger.

IT SOLUTIONS ASSISTANT (SCOPE) PURPOSE - in Sudan

The IT solution Assistant report to a Head of ICT Unit. At this level IT Solution Assistant is expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. IT Solution Assistant is expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate a team of support staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
   
-    Generate ideas and requirements for enhancement of SCOPE so that it evolves in keeping with changes and challenges of delivering CBT transfers in very diverse contexts in operational areas of the Area Office.
-       Be the first point of contact for beneficiary services during a registration campaign.
-    Follow the relevant standard operating procedures for registering beneficiaries into WFP food assistance activities.
-   Test and deploy new software/hardware to support CBTs activities in west/central Darfur.
- Provide technical support to retailers, beneficiaries and WFP Program during distribution cycles for e – voucher or cash transfer modality.
        - Conduct regular data quality checks, ensuring clarity, accuracy and consistency.
- Deploy and/or disseminate standard material, such as, computer hardware and/or software, applications, programs, directories, telephony, web content, publications, database content, training material, etc;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Assists in the technology selection process by collating information on vendors and/or products for evaluation against criteria.
OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to review a variety of data, identify and adjust data discrepancies. Ability to obtain or give factual information of a non-routine nature. Ability to perform detailed work, frequently of a confidential nature and/or to handle a large volume of work systematically. Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate assignments to achieve common goals. Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
At least three years of progressively responsible job related experience in information technology or telecommunications or information management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, telephone services, radio unit, web design, registry or similar. Some experience in client support, such as, a Help Desk or User Support Unit, web design team, telephone maintenance service, e-marketing group, hotline, or similar.
